What Does a Dumpster Rental Cost in Columbia, SC?

Short answer: it depends on the size, what you are throwing away, and how long you keep it. We quote one flat rate on the phone, and that is the number you pay.

What actually changes the price

Four things move the number. Size is the first one. A 15 yard costs less than a 30, and a 30 costs less than a 40. Bigger box, bigger price.
What you are throwing away matters just as much. Household junk and old furniture are light and take up space. Concrete, dirt, brick, and tile are heavy and hit the weight limit long before the box looks full. Heavy material costs more to haul and dump, so we price it differently.
How long you keep it is the third. Our standard rental period covers most jobs. If you need it longer we can extend it, and we tell you what that adds before you agree to it.
Where it goes is the last one. Delivery inside the Columbia metro is straightforward. Addresses further out in the Midlands can run a little different. Either way you hear the number before we roll.

What our flat rate includes

A lot of companies quote you a low number and then add fees on the back end. We do not work that way. When we quote you a price, that price covers delivery, pickup, and disposal up to the weight allowance for your size.
You are not paying a separate delivery fee, a separate pickup fee, or a per-bag charge. One number, agreed up front, on the invoice at the end. Family-owned and veteran-owned since 2005, and that is how we have always billed it.

What can add to the cost

We would rather tell you this up front than surprise you later. Three things can add to a bill.
Going over the weight allowance. Each size comes with an allowance. Load a 15 yard with wet concrete and you will pass it. If you are throwing away something heavy, tell us on the call and we will size it right so this does not happen.
Keeping it past the rental period. Extensions are available at a daily rate. Call before the period ends and we will sort it out.
Prohibited items in the load. Tires, batteries, paint, chemicals, mattresses, and appliances with refrigerant have to be handled separately. If they come back in the box, the landfill charges us and we have to pass that on. The full list is on our prohibited items page.

How to keep the cost down

Get the size right the first time. A second haul costs more than the next size up would have. If you are between two sizes, go bigger. Our size guide walks through it.
Break down bulky items. Flattened boxes and disassembled furniture take up a fraction of the space, which means a smaller box does the job.
Keep heavy material separate when you can. A load of clean concrete or dirt is priced differently than mixed household debris, and mixing them usually costs you more than splitting them.
Load it level. We cannot legally haul a box loaded above the rail, so anything stacked over the top has to come off before we can take it.

Getting an actual number

We do not post a price list, because a real quote depends on the four things above and we would rather give you an honest number than a teaser rate that changes later.
Call (803) 783-6834 and tell us the project, the address, and roughly what you are throwing out. We will pick the size and give you the flat rate on that call. It takes about two minutes.
You can also send it through the contact page and we will get back to you. Serving Columbia and the Midlands — see all the areas we cover.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Columbia, SC?

It depends on the size you need, what you are throwing away, and how long you keep it. We quote one flat rate on the phone that covers delivery, pickup, and disposal up to your weight allowance. Call (803) 783-6834 and we can usually give you the number in about two minutes.

Do you charge by weight?

Each size comes with a weight allowance included in the flat rate. You only deal with extra weight cost if you go over it, and we size the box on the call specifically so that does not happen. Heavy material like concrete and dirt is quoted differently than household debris.

Is delivery and pickup included in the price?

Yes. Delivery, pickup, and disposal up to the weight allowance are all part of the flat rate. There is no separate delivery fee and no per-bag charge.

Why do you not list prices on the website?

Because an honest number depends on your size, material, rental length, and address. A posted rate would be wrong for most jobs. We would rather quote you accurately in a two-minute phone call than advertise a teaser price that changes when the truck shows up.

What is the cheapest dumpster rental option?

The 15 yard is our smallest and least expensive box. But the cheapest real outcome is getting the size right the first time, because a second haul costs more than the next size up would have. Tell us the project and we will point you to the smallest box that will actually finish the job.
